Participant Research Interview Analysis

Over the past few weeks, I watched the videos of all of my narrative interviews and wrote down key quotes that stood out. Each color card represents a different participant family. Today I held an analysis session with my research assistant, Rebecca. For this first phase, we focused on the parents.

Based on participant responses, I see that a key to families successfully making dinner at home and eating it together is planning. What can I design that helps facilitate meal planning and remove some of the organizational burden?

This exercise was beneficial because it helped me filter the comments from parents and group into what has the most impact for my project. I plan on referring to these cards, adjusting and rearranging as my studio work and research continue. Some next steps are to add the empty nester interviews and rearrange based on various scenarios.
